Rain Clouds on the Horizon

So, I got the job at Jackson Middle School. 7am - 4pm. I thought, well I'll just have to take night classes. I went to search the class schedule at UHD's site. Shit. All my major classes start in the afternoon. And theres only one of each, not like other classes wheres there 19 Intro to whatever. What am I gonna do. I didn't sleep well all weekend. I was pretty bummed out. My family was all excited and all, especially my mom. Now I have to tell them I can't take it.

When to church on Sunday morning to ask God or Jesus...one of them had to be there, its church. Anyways I asked for a sign on what to do.

Today at lunch my boss from my last job called me, he wanted to know if I was coming back next year. I told him whats going on, and that I'm am leaning on more of a yes to C.S. I really liked working with the people there, but I know this year these cool people won't be back, and I definitely get stuck with the freaks. I would like to join again, under one condition, it can't be back at Paul Revere. The reason...its too damn far!!! Thats the only reason.

But if I do go back I'll be making $13.50, a dollar more. Plus and extra day cause now all campuses will have program on Fridays.

I donno, I saw a posting in the Admission's department here at school.

We'll see.

UHD goes Hollywood

So on my daily web crunch at Houstonist.com I read and artical that a movie was being filmed in town staring Sean Penn And Brad Pitt. They've been filming at downtown in the Pennzoil Building. And I got a source (little bro) that they were filming on the top floors of the school's building to get a panoramic few of downtown Houston. He said it was around 7pm last night, and the movie trailers were in the visitors lot.

I know most of the UHD police cops, so I'll ask whats the DL, Kara is good friends with the chick cop that was walking Penn around UHD's campus. What an exciting day.

I GOT THE JOB...RIGHT ON THE SPOT!!!

So I went to the job interview. First I couldn't find the office. The office was on the 2nd floor. Why, I don't know, but I found it. The interview was reschedule at 1pm, but they didn't see me till 1:10. And they thought I was some Hernandez guy, apply for a receptionist job. Isn't that a chicks job??? Any ways I met with a lady who was in charge of the Life Skills dept. and the Principle. There was a light miscommunication. When they saw my resume floating on line at the Houstonisd web site, they saw that I had taught Life Skills, but what I put down was not their particular "Life Skills". I taught things such as getting better grades and how to study better. Their life skills class deal with the mentally challenged students. So I brought in Egzona. Now she is not mentally challenged, but I talked of her "culture shock" and how she didn't fit in yet. (She's from Kosovo) Her behavior problems and how I dealt with them. I also talked about how much of an art freak I am, and I would like to try art therapy.

After that the principle ask if I could leave so she and the other lady talk brief. I thought, man that was quick. I'm not qualified. It's a no.

I was called in, and the principle offered me the position if I was interested. Heck yeah I am!!! Well I didn't say it like that, but I took it. They were pleased and hope that I would consider this position as a career.

Shook hands, they gave me a hug....yeah you know me and hugging. But they said this is a family and family gives hugs not hand shakes.

So I will be working with special ed students, and subing for regular teachers when needed.

The best things is it's right by my house, like 3 minutes away! But there is one thing I'm worried about. It's a full time, 7am - 4pm. I have to take night classes. I hope this won't slow me down.

I called my mom but she didn't pick up, so I called mom #2 Kara, she did. Thanks.

New Horizon

During my 2 hour class of defining what is "Just", I was looking for a job on the net. I was on HoustonISD.org and I found a few. One was a middle school 5 minutes away. I applied for it, and 5 minutes I got a voice mail from the principal of Jackson Middle School. She wants me to come in at 1 and talk to me. I am both excited and fraught. You see Jackson MS wasn't always the best MS. When I was in middle school...I went to a different one, Jackson was one of the worse MS at that time. You had students who should of been in 10th grade at that school, fights major fights with knifes, and drive-bys. I know it has changed, cause the hood was a scary place when I was a child. It has now gotten better...thanks to the gays. If there is ever one good thing about the gays, it's their willingness to preserve objects...like an historic neighborhood in Houston...Eastwood.

Well we'll see what happens...man I gotta update my resume and get my clothes ready!!!

Summer so far

Quite. Really nothing, no Greece trip like last summer, or Vegas. I just realized that having no job sucks. It sucks big salty balls. I thought I would have time to do things, but it's too much time. When I was working I'd wake up at 7:30 am ready for school for 6 hours 4 hours working , home by 8, dinner, school readings and then sleep by 11pm.

Now its like wake up at 9am, read todays school readings. Leave the house by 11, get to school for class from 12:30-2. Surf the net in Niki's office. Wait for Kara my walking buddy at 4 and home by 4:15. From 5pm till 1am I have nothing to do! And It's killing me!!!

I tired the TV thing but I just don't like it one bit. If I read the readings for next class then I won't have anything to do to all day next day.

Any one got any hints.
